Generally the new toilet cleanup required for clean water damage is far less. All you have to do is completely dry out your home. After everything has dried, check for mold. By leaving all windows and doors open, your home will dry much more quickly.
Turn off the water to the water line repair heater or if the valve is not working turn off the water to the house. If the valve is not working it will need to be replaced. In a future article we will discuss how to replace your valve.
One other common design that is considered "washerless" was made famous by Delta and copied by several other makers. It uses little "cup" seals that fit over springs recessed in the back of the valve body. The springs press these "seals" against the cartridge and regulate the flow through little tapered openings in the cartridge. If you have one of these and it's dripping, changing these springs and seals will usually correct it. Here's a tip. Once you have the cartridge out of the way, insert a phillips screwdriver into the seal and pop both the seal and spring out. Stick the new ones on the end of the screwdriver to help guide them into place. This is especially helpful if you don't have long slender fingers.

When the machine stops, check the sheets of paper you placed underneath to see it they are wet. If so, call a maintenance person to repair the leak immediately. It is important also for you to remember that regular dishwasher uses 15 gallons on every wash load. Make sure that when you use it, the load is full.

In the end these "Plumbers Directories" are often incomplete, and frequently provide little more information than the phone book.
Over the counter drain cleaning products offer convenience and effective results. However, they are best left to those who need to simply improve the flow of water, not those who need to repair it.
